I was looking for the 1st Chapter of Reign of Adeodatus to refresh my memory once someone asked me for updates. I only found my first introductory panels to the editors. I thought, man o' man I wish I could get away with drawing a war epic like this, haha. Yet these fast paced little squares were at one point my only way of visually communicating to writers what I was trying to do storywise.

I've made some drastic life changes in this last year. It would seem like I've had to catch up on seven years I've ignored and my how fast I've been able to do it. But I have noticed not only is my life speedily changing I feel like the older I get the faster I work with little error. ULGH FINALLY!!

I really enjoy drawing with my wacom from beginning to end. I've had it for years but I only used it for coloring. I think ever since I've gotten into Tegakie I've become more dependant on hatching with the wacom, it's a fun alternative. Just a wee sketch I did while watching tv on the couch... oh man I never watch tv, too much garbage.

So between a friend and I, the topic came up in sort of a debate about traditional meets digital vs completely digital. Since I never draw with my wacom directly I only 'color' with it. So I spent a saturday morning trying this out just to see and MY GOSH it turned out pretty flippin' nifty! I mean yeah BLEGH it's a mere sketch of some fugley little girl but I enjoyed discovering how clean you can make your lines digitally after all. I must say that it seems to take a lot more time because I don't have the control or maybe that's just the feeling of sitting at a computer instead of somewhere outside while sketching. The only catch thus far is the abuse my wrist suffers because I am unable to draw/render with my arm. (certainly not on a 5x4 tablet SHAME!)

I've been keeping a schedule this month, it's mainly built around a project a friend and I dreamt up nearly a year ago and now I find that I can devote some time to making it, just for the hell of it. These were some early head studies of a Queen who has 'beauty in abundance'. I actually had to stop sketching her for a while because I couldn't stop laughing and the grotesque obscurity I was conjuring up...oh you'll see.....

...I also remember to keep myself ahead on updates for comics. This cover of Scorch won't be featured for a few more chapters but I had it in mind years ago and what I love about being able to draw is creating a composition that has remained in my minds eye and here it is finally, in the flesh (on paper) by my own hands. It's a warm fuzzy feeling.

This is really quite interesting, the only "free-time" I have away from art is doing more art. /; O Freelance work is really kicking me in the butt, personal projects enticing me to indulge in them, running favors and errands around town, all the while I'm trying to remember the last time I washed my hair...yuck! So I actually took the leisure time to sit down and do some artwork for the newer version of http://www.sugarcrash.net (leisure ha ha!!)

Eventually I'll get to the part I really enjoy....which is..... ..... *dead silence

Well whaddya know I've actually been busy with art. HOLY COW!! Between the making with the webcomics and such I think I just waltzed myself into a film project as well--ha-shiiiissshhhhhh!!! I'm saving that tidbit for myself. >;P

omg...not to sound like I've hit rock bottom but my bottom feels like a rock. I was up all night playing beer pong for my friend monica's graduation. That game is disgusting but there's nothing like having friends who're still in highschool to get you to do dumb stuff. XD I obviously feel young again after sleeping on concrete floor and waking up with a gigantic bruise on my ribs...what the heck happened?

Anywhoo, portfolio time..round three. Tis a small portfolio and I barely managed to print out three books in one shot but...well its said and done, lets try it again. Wish me luck. ;p

know what's no fun? everything...but what's more not fun then all of that? Strep! that's what. Strep is by far the worst non fun thing you can catch on a saturday night and sit at home and cry about how all your friends are still out having fun. Only they're not out having fun, no you'll find out a week later that they are in fact at home with the strep too. That's how unfun it is.

Alls for me to do now is take my meds, cough up a lung, run on a fever high, attempt to paint, and make marlon brando or christopher walken impersonations as my air passage condenses. whoo-hoo!!

I finally decided on a theme but when the infatuation died down, I'm cautious that my designs are to 'girly'. nooooes why did I have to be born a woman! ...and amercian? I was surprised to find out that people actually look at this blog, muwhahaha. Asking why I haven't posted anything new... well truth be told, I'm drawing less and less. I spend a lot of time coding html (self taught) I actually think from time to time that could be my day job, as much as I do it. blahhh

I think I'm just really burnt after the first round of commissions. I almost ALMOST want to shut it down... already. I needed some kind of psuedo job for here-say because I don't have money that would allow me to have a real place for creativity which would allow me to have a real job...which defeats the purpose in the first place. ehhhruuuu? I'm so confused by my own issues. I used to feel depressed but I kind of enjoy dropping the ball all over again just to see how far it rolls.

On a side note. I'm SERIOUSLY debating a 'dream journal'. I dream...constantly and I have a mind like a steel-trap so it'd be easy to pod-cast my dreams via blog. wouldn't that be nice, something for you all to read on a daily basis! my un-censored subconcious creative mind...from which the majority of my inspiration comes from. whooooo.

School is starting up again, I only had a measley week or so off because I was at summer school. Oh well, at least this is the last semester. Already I want to start another program because I'll be able to transfer my reqs and finish up twice as fast by continuing school. BUT I DON'T HAVE THE MON'AY!!!

There's so much crapp I need to update, like my computer for one. I've never actually owned my own, just a lot of burnt out hand-me downs. I'm grateful but I can't believe I'm trying to do the kind of artwork I want to do on them. I don't know how I survived coloring with a mouse in photoshop 5.0 all those years...worse yet 3.0!!! I'm going to have to start doing comissions just so I can afford to buy paper.

It's all going to come down at once... post webcomic, update portfolio site, open commissions, etc. ect. but I am so many miles, transportaionless, and several days from possible contact, away from the tools to do it... *hangs head in despair*.

Muwahh I can't stand the 'bitchez' in the cafeteria at the noon shift. You're all so loud! I just got over one of those psychadelic migraines and now this? speaking of migraines... they're not like headaches at all. They're more like non-fatal strokes. Remember how great ren and stimpy was back in the day? It was cute and awkward with the cuddly roommate thing just short of being gay... that was until networks aired it uncensored. This revealed how repressed the cat/dog couple's drama was all these years. It really turned out to be a work of art once it came out of the closet. However, a friend and I were saddend that the 'cuddlyroomate' feeling never truly existed within the series. Of course we had an idea to make a comic series centered around that concept in the shadow of shonen ai genre short of yaoi. Also challenging my typical female lead design, who always ends up lacking in personality, to take a sort of male role. Also to fuel my obession with making 'fat-things' cute. This is the first character design pitch for that series.
